Ushering an era with positive changes

Margazhi is the month of concerts,dance and drama and with Chennai’s salubrious climate in December, draws people of all ages from across the world. I recently attended an instrumental musical evening, by the world renowned violinist brothers  Ganesh & Kumaresh. What a treat !

During the recital, Mr Ganesh remarked that “…Tamil,Telugu,Hindi are the languages of humans; Sanskrit is that of the Gods..but music is the universal language. It transcends other languages and has survived and grown over millenia because it seeks to give only love and joy to all..” .

The siblings held their audience captive for over two hours, ably supported by a team of expert Mridangam and Ghatam exponents. The melodies  uplifted the moods of all present. The multiple rounds of applause were spontaneous.

There is a saying that energy can be positive or negative and  influences our individual and collective behaviour as Humans. Apparently,  they have a bearing on relationships. This truth was on ample display at the concert.

The positivity at this wonderful confluence of string and percussion instruments, under the expert care and nurturing of  accomplished artistes was quite conspicuous.

What creates the bonding between  the maestros  and the audience?

An abundance of all encompassing energy  The scintillating co-ordination between all the artists, the jugal-bandhis ( duets between two soloists) that followed, the ecstasy demonstrated by the alert audience was there for all to behold.

Towards the end, Mr Ganesh expressed gratitude to The Almighty and acknowledged a musically aware audience. It was very humbling. The heartfelt thanks  held us all in an embrace of Love. We responded unanimously with a standing ovation. The respect was mutual.

Energy permeated in the auditorium and all of us were connected by Positivity. The collective behaviour expressed joy, love, gratitude and humility. An awareness  that bonded us together for a few hours.

Feelings abound and are dominant. Somewhere in this experience  the mind wonders ..Are we not  specs in the universe... each connected by an all pervading energy? Positivity enables and empowers us to behave cohesively and collaboratively. In stark contrast, negativity invokes emotions of anger, jealousy, hatred,greed, etc. with attendant less desirable consequences.

Let us usher in the NEW YEAR in a positive spirit and conquer all that is negative within us. Collective positivity can bring about sustainable and permanent change for Global betterment.
